  • One thing I strongly believe in is brand strategy: laying down the foundation of what your brand is all about before we even begin any design. Last year, I tried offering branding without strategy in the form of single-day intensives because there's HUGE demand for them. And the end results of those intensives look really good! But I feel better if I know that the work I'm producing for clients is going to stand the test of time and allow them to grow. And I just feel that's a lot more likely when you take the time to really think about what you're doing. So this year, I've gone back to only offering branding with strategy included. Does this mean branding costs more and takes a few weeks instead of a single day? Yes. Does it also mean a better end result? YES. If I ever offer intensives again, I'll probably make them longer and require more client homework prior. But for now, I'm very excited to go back to focusing on carefully building cohesive, immersive brand worlds with my clients – where every touch point feels 'on point'.   • I recently completed this cute little branding for Dr Annie Fonda, EMDR Therapist. We did a brand intensive together before I built her website, where we then rolled these assets out. She wanted bright, happy branding to reflect both her personality and the vibe she seeks to cultivate at her clinic, so we went with marigold yellow and orange. The butterfly is symbolic of transformation and freedom, and we've used it across her website (check out my recent post if you haven't seen it yet!) #branding #branddesign #logodesign
  • I was recently on a call with someone who needed a website when I asked what brand assets they had for me to use on it. They asked me, "Why do I need a brand?" I didn't want to give a big spiel in the middle of a phone call about What A Brand Is but this is how I define it and why I think it's so important to take control of yours.   • I complete this custom Wordpress website recently for Dr Annie Fonda. She wanted something bright, cheerful and friendly so we used yellow and oranges to convey warmth. Her logo includes a butterfly, and these were scattered throughout the website as well to create brand cohesion and also to bring some casual fun to the design. We stuck to a simple single-page design that can be expanded on down the track. If you're looking to get a website launched and live quickly, single-page sites (or "one-pagers") can be an excellent option. #Wordpresswebsite #customwebsite webdesigne
